"CHERUBIM of the FIRST SPHERE - CHRISTIAN HIERARCHY"

The Cherubim are guardians of light and stars. They create and channel positive energy from divinity, and appear exquisite in form. They outshine all the other angels. When you are seeking divine protection, wisdom, and knowledge, seek assistance from the Cherubim.

"Man was created a little lower than the angels, and has been getting lower ever since.  ~Josh Billings"

PA:
Cherubim as the second order or Choir in the Hierarchy of Angels, this article has changed my point of view with them. All the while I thought that Cherubim are somewhat similar with the ever told fictional stories during my youth. Nevertheless, Cherubim are, regardless of appearance, rank high - meaning, they are one of the most trusted angels in heaven. Cherubim exude outstanding wisdom of God and are best protectors as well. With those characteristics, uhmmmm, nothing more I can say.

CI:
Cherubim the hybrid, multi-faceted Archangels appear nearly 100 times in the course of the Old Testament, as if to emphasize the significance of what they represent. The Cherubim (singular "Cherub") are said to protect the Throne of God.

They are the guardians of light, the stars and God's Throne.

Their rank among angels is uncertain but they are always categorized in the First Hierarchal Sphere normally after the Seraphim. Some believe them to be an order or class of angels; others hold them to be a class of heavenly beings higher than angels.

These Archangels are said to have perfect knowledge of God, surpassed only by the love of the Seraphim.

They have four conjoined wings covered with eyes, and they have ox's feet. They were not described as the cute little "cupid-like" angels depicted by painters, but instead as having four appearances: that of a human, ox, lion, and eagle.

According to the Cabalists:
·         the human face is said to be symbolic of Divine Man
·         the eagle's symbolic of the World of Creation; the element of air
·         the lion's, represents the World of Formation
·         the bulls features corresponds to the World of Action and the element of earth.

They are considered the elect beings for the purpose of protection. Cherubim guard the way to the tree of life in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:24) and the throne of God (Ezekiel 28:14-16). The Cherubim were also known as the record keepers of Heaven.

St. Thomas Aquinas theorized that Satan is a fallen Cherub.

Modern English usage has blurred the distinction between cherubim and putti. Putti are the winged human baby/toddler-like beings traditionally used in figurative art.
